Public beta · Open core

Centralize your translations. Collaborate without friction.

Verba is the i18n platform for teams shipping multilingual products. The Community Edition is open source and ready to self-host today. The managed Cloud is in public beta and free while we shake out the rough edges.

The problem

Your translations are everywhere. That's the problem.

Spreadsheets, scattered JSON files, Slack threads, copy-paste errors. Translation workflows break down as teams scale. Verba gives you one place for all your i18n resources, with the tools to keep product, developers, and translators in sync.

Why Verba

Designed for the way teams actually ship multilingual.

  • One source of truth

All your translation keys, namespaces, and locales in a single versioned workspace. No more hunting for the latest file.

  • Built for teams

Translators, developers, and product managers work in the same interface, at the same time, with role-based access and inline comments.

  • Developer-first

JSON, YAML, PO. CLI for syncing keys from your codebase. REST API. Webhooks. Verba fits into your build pipeline, not the other way around.

  • Translation Board

A visual review queue per locale. Drag keys from Needs translation to In review to Approved. Bulk approve, bulk reject, ship with confidence.

  • Smart import and export

Drop in JSON, YAML, or PO. Smart key merging, conflict detection, no duplicates. Get clean output back, filtered by status, in any format your codebase needs.

  • Versioned and auditable

Every change is logged. See who edited what, when, and why. Roll back. Compare. Audit your translation history without leaving the tool.

Collaboration

Where product, developers, and translators meet.

Verba eliminates the back-and-forth. Developers push new keys. Translators get notified. Reviewers approve. Everyone stays in sync without Slack threads, email chains, or spreadsheets.

    Developers push new keys

  3. 3

    Export clean output

Ready for your build pipeline, in any format you need.

How it's licensed

Open-core, honestly.

Verba's Community Edition is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0: free, self-hostable, and fully featured for individuals and teams running their own infrastructure. The Verba Enterprise Edition is proprietary software owned by Nubisco Lda, and the managed Cloud and Enterprise editions add team-scale features, SSO, audit, and zero-ops convenience that fund continued development. Both editions share the same engine, the same file formats, and the same APIs, so you can move data between them at any time. See the LICENSE and NOTICE.md files in the Verba repository for the authoritative terms.

FAQ

Questions teams ask before adopting.

  • What does public beta mean?

It means the managed Cloud is open for anyone to use, free, while we finish hardening it. The features you see today are real and working, but you may hit rough edges. There is no SLA during beta and support is best-effort. We are looking for feedback from real teams, not perfection.

  • When does Cloud start charging?

Not until we end the public beta and announce general availability. Indicative GA pricing is $19 per user per month billed annually, but we will give every beta account at least 30 days notice with the final number before any billing begins. If you do not want to convert, you can export your data and switch to self-hosting the Community Edition.

  • What is the Community edition?

The Community Edition is the open-source, self-hosted Verba, licensed under AGPL-3.0. It's free and fully functional for translation management. You run it on your own infrastructure and own your data end-to-end. It is the same engine that powers Cloud.

  • Is my data safe in the beta?

Cloud data is hosted in the EU, backed up daily, and isolated per account. We do not run experiments against production data and we do not train AI models on your translations. If something does go wrong we will tell you directly and quickly.

  • Why AGPL and not MIT?

AGPL means anyone can self-host Verba, but companies that build a competing SaaS on top of our work have to contribute their changes back. It protects the project from being strip-mined while keeping it genuinely free for the people we built it for.

  • Can I migrate from Community to Cloud (or back)?

Yes. Both editions share the same data model and file formats. We provide migration tooling in both directions, so adopting Verba never traps you.

  • Where is Cloud data stored?

Cloud data is hosted in the EU by default. Enterprise customers can negotiate dedicated or in-region infrastructure.

  • Do you offer discounts for open source projects or startups?

Yes. Reach out and we'll sort out something fair, especially during the beta.
